Towers

In the centre of town, in the Castello area, we find this tower which is traditionally referred you as "Roman" although it dates from the Middle Ages. It has a tower with a square base, probably reduced in eight, with walls made from quite regular dark stones. Today the Bovegno Tower is home to the Angelo Canossi Foundation - Aldo Cibaldi Cultural Centre and hosts temorary exhibits.
Avogadro Tower in Lumezzane
Situated on the highest point in the centre of Lumezzane Pieve, the tower dominates the valley. Built in the fifteenth century, it was the presidium of the Avogadro Family, lords of Lumezzane. The tower was originally surrounded by a moat and the entrance was probably by drawbridge. The dungeons were udes as a prison. Today the tower is the Municiapl Gallery and hosts exhibits by local and international artists.

Mondaro Tower in Pezzaze
The Mondaro Tower, located in the hamlet of the same name, is also wrongly through to date from Roman times. In actual fact, it is an example of typical military construction of the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, and its origin is closely associated with the extraction and crafting of iron.
